A CONTINENTAL Street Market returns to New Brighton this weekend.

Around 30 traders from around the world will be on hand to display the continent's gastronomic delights and craft items during the event on King's Parade this Saturday and Sunday.

It takes place from 10am - 8pm on Saturday and 10am-5pm the following day.

Food on offer will range from cakes and pastries for those with a sweet tooth, to barbecued treats for those craving a meat feast as well as authentic Chinese street food.

The market, operated by RR Events, a North-West based event management company specialising in special event and themed markets, was last held in New Brighton in May.

Its managing director Tony Walsh said: "Our team of staff and traders have been involved in markets across Europe for over 10 years.

"With our newly-developed brand, the continental street market is sure to create an atmosphere and buzz as it tours the UK."

The market's return has been timed to coincide with the Mersey River Festival.

Tony Walsh continued: "New Brighton will serve as an excellent vantage point to view the aerial displays planned, which include a fly past from the world famous Red Arrows, as well as the Yakolevs Aerobatics Display team".
