A ONE-OFF concert celebrating the music of Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen takes place at the Floral Pavilion in New Brighton this Friday.

Staged in venue's Blue Lounge and Presented by Wirral Globe Arts Ambassadors Hand in Hand Theatre Productions, Dylan and Cohen: Songs of the Poets features Greek-born Calli, who will be joined by Liverpool's Brian 'saxophone' Jones, violinist Kate O’Brien and other local musicians.

Bev Clark, from Hand in Hand Theatre Productions said: "Calli has been captivating audiences with her unique, emotional voice for a number of years throughout the North West.

"She has the ability to tell the story through the lyrics of each song and aims to do just this with the wonderful songs of the great Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan.

"Calli has been strongly influenced by the poetic and storytelling ability of these artists and welcomes the opportunity of reinterpreting some of their most well-known songs.

"A dynamic performer with a wealth of experience in the world of theatre and music, she has been a lead vocalist for several bands of varying styles from folk and cabaret, to rock.

"She has also performed many songs for the award winning Hand in Hand Theatre, which led to an opportunity to sing on the Royal Shakespeare stage in Stratford-on-Avon".

Recent performances include Songs of the musicals at the Brindley theatre, Runcorn and the mayor's charities concert at Gladstone Theatre in Port Sunlight.

She was also support act for Pauline Daniels 'An evening with Pauline Daniels.'

Tickets for Friday's show, which starts at 7.30pm, are £14.50.
