A MEETING was held at the Wirral Dean Centre in support of victims of the Manchester terror attack.
The public solidarity event saw people from across Wirral attend alongside key speakers including the Bishop of Birkenhead Rt Revd Keith Sinclair, the centre’s three Imams Fahmid Syed, Mushtaq Haque and Mohammed Rahman.
Wirral Council leader Cllr Phil Davies and inspector John Sacker from Merseyside Police’s community engagement team also attended with councillor Pat Cleary.
A minutes silence was held to remember the victims as more than 100 people united to pay their respects.
The key message of the meeting was that everyone must ‘stand together’ against terror and hate.
The Deen Centre opened in August 2016 by a group of Muslims led by Ibrahim Syed and is open to all people regardless of faith or background.
The organisation seeks to bring people together by working with residents and other charities and hosts activities such as catch up sessions, monthly seminars and homeless feeding projects.
