FIREFIGHTERS were called out to tackle a large fire at an outdoor peat conveyor system in Ellesmere Port yesterday, May 27.
Two fire engine from Ellesmere Port, one from Powey Lane and the aerial appliance and supporting fire engine from Chester all attended the incident in South Road at 11.35am.
Crews remained at the scene for three hours, as firefighters – four wearing breathing apparatus – used two main jets, two covering jets and two hose reel jets to bring the blaze under control.
