OFFICERS and firefighters are investigating a blaze at an unoccupied snooker hall in Birkenhead this evening.
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service was called out to the incident at the former Rileys site, in Argyle Street, at 5.52pm on May 27.
Crews were alerted two minutes later, and arrived on the scene at 5.57pm.
Ten fire engines and 50 firefighters attended the fire, as crews wearing breathing apparatus used main jets, hose reels and high pressure hose reels to extinguish the fire.

They searched for occupants using thermal imaging cameras, but none were found and no injuries were reported. Crews used a PPV van to ventilate the area.
Merseyside Police attended the scene, alongside paramedics from North West Ambulance Service.
The cause of the fire is not yet known, and a joint investigation between police and the fire service is underway.
Firefighters remained at the scene for three hours.
