SERVICES of remembrance will be held across Wirral for people to pay their respects to those affected by the Manchester terror attack.

On Monday people will visit Wallasey Town Hall for a vigil arranged by 23-year-old Katherine Welch from Leasowe.

People are welcome to bring candles, cuddly toys and flowers to place them on the steps of the Hall from 7pm.

Katherine told the Globe: "This is to show support to the victims, especially our own from here in Wirral.

"We need to show our respects to those who were at that concert.

"We will have music playing and if anyone wants to get involved they are more than welcome to message me on Facebook.

"Kids from Wirral were in the Arena when the attack happened and I would love for them to come to see that we should not be scared and see everyone coming together."

In Moreton a service organised by Anthony Mcdougall will be held on Tuesday from 6pm on Pasture Road opposite the ambulance station.

Anthony said: “This will be out final respect for those who were taken from us.

“Anyone who wants to lay flowers, balloons or cuddly toys is more than welcome.

“I decided to arrange the service for Robby who was injured during the attack – his family live opposite me.

“I just want to do this for everyone who have been affected by the attack.

“There will be candles, balloons and a piece read from the bible. A song will then be played followed by a two minute silence.”

22 people were killed and 59 people were injured in the terror attack after an Ariana Grande concert at the Manchester Arena on Monday.

Two men from Wirral Robert Potter and Phil Hassall remain in hospital with serious injuries.

Ten people have been arrested in connection with the blast and two have been released without charge.
