IT is totally disingenuous of the managing trustees of St Luke's Methodist Church in Hoylake to describe their reason for selling the tennis courts in 2013 as being "surplus to requirements and in extremely poor condition and in clear need of an upgrade".
The courts had recently been painted, the club house decorated and new carpets fitted with St Luke's Tennis Club members working hard maintaining the grounds.
The attitude that surrounded this sale was one of the reasons I now attend St Andrew's Parish Church, West Kirby.
Also, thankfully, the memorial seats bought with the club’s finances now grace Bertram Tennis Club, Meols.
