A MAN and his dog were rescued after getting stranded in mud near New Brighton beach.
Emergency services attended Manor Groyne at around 4.20pm on Tuesday afternoon.
When Wirral Coastguard arrived the man was being helped by a member of the public.
The man was checked over by team members after suffering an ankle injury and he was taken to hospital by the North West Ambulance Service.
Wirral Coastguard then dropped the dog back at the owner's house for a much-needed wash.
