MERSEYSIDE Fire and Rescue service has released a photograph taken after a house fire in Birkenhead sixty years ago in an attempt to identify the boys in the picture.
There is very little information about the fire at 24 Parkfield Avenue on May 23 1957 and there are no records of a fatal fire at the address or no newspaper clippings in the archives.
The fire engine in the background of the photograph is Birkenhead’s Dennis F2 which was delivered to the area in 1953 and ran from Whetstone Lane - the Central Fire Station.
In the photograph there are five boys who are peering through a smashed window of the home and we want to know who they were.
It is believed that these boys would now be in their 60s or 70s.
If you recognise anyone in the photograph email lauren.jones@nqnw.co.uk
