ARMED officers were called to Moreton Cross as part of an ‘ongoing’ investigation into firearms.

Merseyside Police confirmed armed police were in attendance on Sunday at around 6pm.

Witnesses said that police were focussed on flats above shops on Hoylake Road.

No arrests were made and the investigation remains ongoing.

Police say that this incident is not related to the recovery of a pistol at an address on Stavordale Road, Moreton on Friday.
