A WELL-mannered pooch is looking for a "forever home" after being left at Dogs Trust Merseyside.

Five-year-old labradour hound cross Roger is playful but very hands on.

He is a clever dog and would be looking for a calm household.

A spokeswoman from Dogs Trust Merseyside said: “Bouncy Roger is a very playful chap, particularly when it comes to other dogs.

"He is very well mannered with his canine chums and very tolerant of the livelier ones.

"He's a friendly dog in general and happy to go out for walkies with many of the volunteers.

"Roger is looking for family that will be patient with him, as he isn’t overly keen on being handled and can be aloof at times.

"Roger doesn't like to be left alone so will need a family with someone at home most of the day.

"He is a huge fan of other dogs and would benefit from living with another sociable canine companion.

"His hound characteristics make for a very curious dog so he will need to be kept busy - he would enjoy searching and rooting out interesting hidden treats, as well as being allowed to sniff practically everything he encounters on a walk."
