THE Magee Cup Final produced a superb game in which Woodchurch United turned over Millhouse with a 6-1 success.

Tim Bigland and Ben Holmes fired home doubles and Mark Beech and Chris Griffiths added singles to put the gloss on a fine team performance that resulted in Ben Holmes also claiming the man of the match award.

United were leading 2-0 before Danni Kelly scored a great headed goal for Millhouse in an even first 45 minutes.

The second half belonged to United as they netted four times, despite Jack Ireland putting in a man of the match performance for the Millhouse in a game well marshalled by the three officials – Ken Taylor, Mark Turner and Keith Maddox.

The race for the division One title continues after Lord Nelson went nap and showed Liver View the way with a 5-0 victory; Jordan Griffiths bagged a brace with Jason Rigby, Carl Barker and Lee Pickles all claiming singles in a good team effort to keep them in the hunt with one game to play.

Poulton Vics went joint top of division two following their emphatic 4-0 success over Queens Liscard, thanks to goals from Chris Dickens, Kyle Birch, Sean Wright and Craig Kay, and only need one more point from their final game to claim the title ahead of Pilot Boat.

The top of the table clash in the Dundee Youth division between Wirral SB and Neston Nomads went to the latter as Nomads won a very tense affair 1-0 with a goal from Jay Harvey and inflicted a first league defeat on Wirral to take a one point lead at the top with one game each to play.

Grove Youth division action saw F Phoenix claim a last minute win over Eastham Rangers Jets with a 2-1 score line in which Ollie Lowe and Callum Williams fired the vital goals, with Josh Sims scoring the only reply.

Irby Youth secured their best win of the campaign when beating Heswall Blue 6-1, as Paul Keenan netted four times and both George Wilde and Ryan Morris bagged one apiece with Ellis Williams netting the consolation.

A goal apiece from Jamie Phillips and Danny Regan saw West Kirby Wasps sting Glenavon Athletics hopes of finishing third as they won 2-0 in a hard fought encounter.
