MOTORISTS were advised to drive with caution after plastic pipes were found on the northbound section of the M53 between junction three Woodchurch and junction two Moreton Spur.

Speed limits were lowered to 50mph and the pipes have now been removed.

A Highways England spokesman told the Globe: "We got a call shortly after 9am that there were plastic pipes in the carriageway.

"We dispatched traffic officers from Knutsford Outstation to investigate and remove.

"They did so by 9.25am after discovering that it was pipe lagging material.

"There were no major congestion issues".
