A CHARITY organisation is ready to bring people together for a community fun day in aid of the New Ferry appeal.
The “Phab” charity shop, which aims to end loneliness and social isolation, was destroyed by the blast on Saturday March 25 and now the owners want to help others who are in a similar position.
Husband and wife team Greg and Lorna Howell are looking to raise cash for the New Ferry appeal at their new charity hub in the old Co-op building on New Chester Road on Saturday April 29.
“Fun in the Ferry” will take place from 12pm - 6pm and will feature an alternative fashion festival, illusionists and circus artists.
Greg said: “We are offering free pitches to start businesses trade and also an area for donations to be given to residents.
“We have teamed up with 50 square, Co-op, FRN (Furniture Reuse Network), homeless charity Emmaus and Changing Lives in Cheshire.
“We are offering free furniture to who needs it but we also are in need of any jumble stock.
“We are seeking voluntary services to help donate materials and with labour.
“We really need you – 34 injuries and 2 critical – dozens of families and businesses affected, we can pull together as a community.”
The New Ferry appeal hopes to raise £10,000 to help push forward regeneration in the area.
