A WIRRAL pub is set to launch their very own brand of gin and botanical garden.

The Cheshire Cheese in Wallasey will host a 'gin festival' on Saturday as part of its relaunch after Steve Thomas and his family took over the pub with the intention of turning it into a unique space for the borough to enjoy.

Rumoured to have been visited by the ‘father of gin’ William III in 1689, the pub is one of the oldest in the area and Steve feels it is time to bring back some forgotten history.

With the addition of their very own signature gin ‘Cheshire Gin’ the space is set to become one of the best places in Wirral to grab your favourite tipple.

Outside the Cheshire gin garden will be a botanical paradise available to host events and private parties.

The pub will also serve locally sourced grub, fine wines and fizz with unique lagers and ales.

The event will start from 3pm. For more information visit www.facebook.com/TheCheshireCheeseWallasey and click here for the event page.
