A MAN has been cautioned by police after his car crashed into railings in Barnston.

Emergency services were called following reports of an incident at the junction of Barnston Road and Gills Lane just after 8.10pm yesterday.

The 28-year-old driver of a silver Ford Fiesta managed to get out of the car unaided and was taken to Arrowe Park Hospital for treatment for a cut to his head.

He was then cautioned for driving without insurance and without an appropriate licence.

The road was closed for a short time while the car was removed.
