A PET shop will stop selling rabbits for four days this Easter.
Pets at Home, which has more than 430 stores nationwide, announced it would halt the sale of rabbits from Good Friday until Easter Monday to highlight the importance of responsible pet ownership.
The company said each Easter it sees a spike in customer interest in rabbits but families may not understand how to properly care for the animals.
CEO of Pets at Home, Peter Pritchard, said: “We pride ourselves on putting pets before profit so we’ve taken the decision not to sell rabbits during the upcoming Easter weekend.
“Nor will customers be able to adopt rabbits in need of rehoming from our in store adoption centres.”
Instead the shop is offering free sessions about how to care for pet rabbits and for more information visit petsathome.com/workshops.
