THE Met Office has issued a yellow warning of ice across Merseyside.
Drivers are warned to be aware as ice is expected to form overnight from 6pm and will result in difficult driving conditions on untreated roads.
Showers will continue through tea time into the early hours of Tuesday when temperatures are set to fall below zero.
Rain, sleet and hail will fall at low levels but there will be snow over hills on higher ground.

Key advice is being issued: “When snow or icy roads are forecast you should adjust your driving to suit the conditions.
“Black ice isn't always visible and so can be an even greater hazard for both motorists and pedestrians.
“Black ice may be formed when rain or drizzle fall on a road surface which is at a temperature below zero.”
Warnings for ice were announced following Storm Doris last week which brought gales, snow and rain to much of the UK, caused travel disruption on the roads and rail network, brought down trees, grounded planes and toppled large vehicles.
