THE weather took its toll on the CWFL schedule this weekend with only six out of the 17 scheduled matches being played on Saturday.

In the CWFL Roodee Web Designs TGMT Clubbies and Christleton Celtic have both booked a place in the semi finals after victories on Saturday.

Clubbies entertained New Ferry Rangers and came away 4-1 winners thanks to goals from Ash Reid, Liam McGovern and an own goal, Adam Bagley replied for New Ferry.

Man-of-the-match, Callum Bratley netted twice for Christleton Celtic as they overcame Higher Bebington Kelma 3-2.

Aaron Hinchcliffe added a third for Celtic with Kelma replying through Ben Keirman and Simon Tierney.

In the CWFL Doug Johnson Vets Trophy, Avenue Vets travelled to Knights Grange to play George and Dragon.

In a fiercely-fought tie Avenue came away 5-2 winners with goals from Les Cotgrave (2), Chris McGinn (2) and Kevin Duffy. Liam Goulding hit both for George and Dragon.

Crossway claimed all three points as they travelled to Elton Rigger in the CWFL Link Up Division Two.

Karl Rixham scored for the Rigger.

Chris Larson (5) and Jamie Rogers were on target for Blacon Youth Vets as the beat Crossway Vets 6-0 in the CWFL Tarvin Precision Vets Division A.

In the CWFL Tarvin Precision Vets Division B Shaun O'Rourke and Dave Addiscott combined to give Tarvin Vets a 2-1 win over Upton JFC Vets.

Midweek action now and in the CWFL Monday Night 11s ESWA have extended their lead at the top of the table to five points after beating Christleton Celtic 3-1 thanks to goals from Liam Rose, Ryan Smith and Stu Hardman.

Aaron Hinchcliffe replied for the Celtic.

Groves Athletic move into third thanks to a hard fought victory over Elton Athletic, winning 3-2.

Groves scorers were Tom Douglas with two and Sam Moore.

Elton replied through Adam Brawn and Josh Clayton.

Royal Flush are once again sitting at the top of the pile in the CWFL Friday Night 11s thanks to a convincing 4-0 win over a very good Ashton Phoenix side.

Danny Fortune and Lewis Harris hit two a piece in the game that sees Royal Flush maintain their outstanding form this season to date.

Travs move upto third after a 7-2 victory over the Countess of Chester. Jamie Price was the night's top scorer with four with Travs other goals coming from Rich Dean, Andy Knight and Rob Shenton.

Gareth Jones and Luke Thornton replied for Countess.
