WIRRAL’S Olympic golden girl Sam Quek has been taking part in a musical tour of Liverpool for Ladies Day.

Joined by fellow ambassadors champion jockey Katie Walsh and soprano, Laura Wright Sam drove the ladies around Liverpool in a Range Rover Evoque – a prize which can be won at this year’s Ladies Day festival.

The ‘Carpool Karaoke’ style video show the girls singing The Beatles and Beyoncé and iconic venues such as the Anglican Cathedral, Liver Buildings and of course Aintree Racecourse.

On the day the ambassadors will be part of a panel for the Grand Women’s Summit – a women in sport conference that takes place at Aintree on Ladies Day.

Entertainment on the day comes from pop sensation Sophie Ellis Bextor and Radio DJ Jo Whiley.

Sam, who won a gold medal with Great Britain’s women’s hockey team in last year’s Rio Olympics, said: “I have always been a big horse racing fan and lover of fashion which makes the Grand National Festival a stand out date in my diary every year.

“I am honoured to have been asked to be the Ladies Day Ambassador and as a local girl, this makes this role doubly exciting for me.

“Aintree always delivers as a spectacle for all and I can’t wait to see what the ladies of Liverpool deliver this year as the fashion spotlight shines on them once more.”

To enter the Style Award on the day, ladies and gentleman enter the competition by having a professional photo taken in a branded frame located in different areas of the racecourse.

The judging panel will whittle down the entrants to ten finalists who will be invited onto the stage at the Red Rum Garden whereby a winner will be chosen by professionals from the fashion and style industry.
