THERE were cup upsets in the Tom Gerraghty Memorial Trophy with two division two teams knocking out Premier division opposition.

In the first game Steve Rothwell hit a hat-trick for Overpool Athletic, taking his goal tally to 45 for the season, as they edged past Newton Athletic 4-3. Neil Pilkington hit the other goal for Overpool.

Hoole Rangers went goal crazy as they beat Whitby Athletic 11-0. Hoole's goals came from Matt Sharpe 4, Ash English, Josh Hasledine, Andy Johnson, Ali Thompson, Adam Roper, Ali Hutchison and Stuart Schreiber.

In the CWFL Link Up Division Two, Sutton Athletic reclaimed top spot after securing a 3-0 win over Princes Villa thanks to goals from Paul Butler (2) and Danny McKevvitt.

St Saviours move into third place after seeing off Hoole Youth 6-4 with goals from Callum Wynne, Liam Wall 2, Luke Edwards, Carl McLeod and Joe Burns.

Jake Dean hit a hattrick for Blacon Youth Reserves as they beat AFC Quays 5-2.

Blacon's other goals came from Kieran Ball and Harvey Bennion with Tome Reece and Nathan Cooper replying for Quays.

Zach Caveney was on target for Chester Argyle as they went down 3-1 at home to Crossway, Paul Seddon, Phil Goss and Matty Macaulay with the winners.

The Upton Rangers v Elton Rigger game was abandoned after 75 minutes after an Upton player sustained an injury that required medical treatment.

Lee Marshall 2, Stefan Jones and Wayne Clark had put Rigger in a commanding 4-0 position until the unfortunate incident brought the game to a sudden end.

In the CWFL Tarvin Precision Vets Division A Frodsham Park Vets and George & Dragon Vets fought out a 4-4 draw.

In the CWFL Monday Night 11's Wirral Utd move into second place after a fine 5-1 win over Cemex FC.

Sykrop FC move into third after beating Bears Paw FC 4-0.
