WIRRAL charities are to be honoured during a celebration marking their achievements.

The Wirral third sector business awards will take place in May at the Leverhulme Hotel, Port Sunlight.

Created by Wirral Connect the event will highlight the significant impact that the sector has on the local economy and will provide awards in a range of different categories.

Last year chief executive Paul Growney said: “Our first awards event last year was a great success and all the entrants – not just the winners – were inspirational by showing the difference they make to the local community through their work as charities, volunteers, community groups, social leaders and social enterprise entrepreneurs.

“Once again, we will be paying tribute to those who give back to the community as well as recognising the significant impact the social enterprise and charity sector makes on the local economy.”

Previous winners include the Spider Project CIC, Autism Together, Tomorrows Women Wirral and Progress to Excellence.

Categories for the award are:

  • Health and Wellbeing
