WITH under 60-days until the grand opening of Wirral's youth zone The Hive, their latest developments have been unveiled.

Building contractors H.H. Smith & Sons have been working towards the completion of the £6 million Wirral Youth Zone to create a fresh environment for youngsters around the borough.

The only remaining works such as roof top 3G kick pitch, brightly coloured elevation fins and skate park are well on target to be completed before the opening on April 8.

The Young People’s Development Group, made up of youngsters of other youth zones have been working with senior development surveyor, Adam Poyner to put some of their exciting ideas into practice from artwork on the walls, to the colours of their furniture.

General Manager at The Hive, Stuart Barnes said: “We are well on track with the development of the Youth Zone ahead of opening on April 8th 2017.

"With the erection of the colourful and striking looking fins, people will now be able to physically see the vision become a reality for the young people of Wirral.

"The next few weeks will see interior elements of the Youth Zone take shape and as with any OnSide Youth Zone young people’s vision is imperative and we are all excited to see what they come up with.”

Now The Hive is looking for more volunteers to help in the crucial pre-opening phase and needs to recruit 100 dedicated members of the community to make sure they deliver the best service for Wirral’s young people.
