A man was taken to hospital following a car crash in the Birkenhead tunnel.
Emergency services attended the incident which involved two cars this evening.
The male passenger, aged 25, was cut from a car by fire crews and was taken to Fazakerley Hospital for treatment after suffering severe cuts to the head.
Another passenger was treated at the scene by paramedics.
Three people from the other vehicle also received treatment for minor injuries but had managed to get out the car unaided before crews arrived.
The tunnel was closed while the incident was dealt with.
