BUDDING performers across Wirral are invited to audition for a part in this year's Spotlight On Youth show.

The annual charity showcase for talented young people will be staged at the Floral Pavilion in New Brighton on Sunday, April 2.

Its organisers are appealing to singers, comedians, poets, dancers, bands – anyone with a talent in the performing arts aged 19 or under – to come forward.

The show, compered by local entertainer Chris Jones, gives young performers the chance to experience 'treading the boards’ possibly for the first time.

All proceeds go to the Mayor of Wirral's charity appeal.

Open auditions at Civic Hall at Wallasey Town Hall Civic Hall, Brighton Street on January 24 and 25 between 6pm and 9pm.

Announcing the auditions, Mayor of Wirral, Cllr Pat Hackett, said: "Since I came into office, I've been looking forward to this show.

"This annual event has showcased the talents of many local youngsters for many years while raising thousands of pounds for the Mayor of Wirral’s Special Charity Appeal, which supports local charities.

"We are looking for young musicians, singers, dancers, comedians, sketch-performers, bands and more, as wide a variety of entertainment acts as possible.

"Last year's sell-out show raised more than £3,200 from this one night event, so you will not only be taking part in a very enjoyable event, you will be raising money for charity."

Tickets are now on sale from the Theatre Box Office, 666 0000 or online at floralpavilion.com

If you are interested in taking part, but can't make it to the two audition nights, there are also other options to audition. Details from www.teenwirral.com
