Tranmere Rovers have teamed up with Wirral Council to offer free admission to under-18s for their Boxing Day fixture against Macclesfield Town.

The game will be an opportunity for young fans to see National League table-toppers Tranmere battle their way towards promotion.

Rovers chairman Mark Palios said: “Wirral Council are our match sponsors for the fixture and they were impressed with our #SWA2 ticket initiative which has seen thousands of tickets given to disadvantaged people across Wirral in the last 15 months.

“We’re delighted to work together for the Boxing Day fixture to extend the offer of free admission to all juniors and hopefully there will be a big number out there who come to the game to enjoy some live football with their families.

“I’m looking forward to seeing a really busy Prenton Park for what is a big match for the club.”

Cabinet member for transformation and leisure Cllr Ann McLachlansaid: “We are thrilled to see Tranmere doing so well this season, and we are absolutely delighted to support this initiative.

“Getting children involved in sport is important to us, and this is a fantastic way to get youngsters involved in their local club at a really exciting time.

“I hope this offer sees thousands of Wirral children packed into Prenton Park cheering on the Super Whites as they continue their march back into the Football League.”

The offer applies to the North Star Environmental Kop Stand, the family-friendly area of Prenton Park and will end on December 23.

All under-14s must be accompanied by an adult.

A full refund is available for fans who have already purchased a junior ticket for this fixture from the club shop.
