A GIFT store stocking hand-made goods, with a focus on recycling and upcycling, and opens tomorrow (Saturday) in Dentons Green.

The grand opening of Monty and Coco's, in Greenfield Road, take place at noon.

The shop is housed in the former Back to the Fuchsia florists and is being opened by 28-year-old mum-of-two Natasha Roby.

Natasha, who is married to Saints hooker James Roby, a former England international and 2007 Man of Steel, has worked in retail before but this is her first business venture.

"I'm really excited about this," Natasha, mum to Ollie, nine, and Athelia, three, told the Star. "I'll be sourcing most of the gifts from independent designers and businesses.

"There will be greetings cards made from recycled paper, hand-poured candles and natural skincare in recycled packaging."

Even the majority of the shop's fixtures and fittings, she added, are made from upcycled furniture.

The shop will open every day apart from Mondays and will open tomorrow until 5pm.

Natasha said: "There will be something for everyone here - gifts and homeware, cards and wrapping paper, photo prints, scarves, jewellery, soft toys, wooden toys, gym bags, cushions..."

She said once the business is up and running, she is hoping to take on another member of staff.

"I'll be working in the shop myself and be a hands-on manager, with a view to taking on an apprentice after an initial period.

"We've had the keys for around two months and have been fixing it up in our spare time, with some help from the family.

"I'm really looking forward to welcoming the customers and hope people like the shop."

Gifts will be priced from £2.99 to £40.
