POLICE are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a car crash in Wirral left a driver with serious head injuries.

At around 7.15pm, on Friday, November 25, emergency services were called to reports of a collision involving a BMW 323 and stationary Vauxhall Zafira, on Prospect Road in Prenton.

A man and three young women in the Zafira were treated for minor injuries at Arrowe Park Hospital.

The 49-year-old Wirral driver of the BMW was taken by emergency ambulance to Aintree hospital with serious head injuries.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Constable Carl Davies from the Matrix roads policing unit said: “We would like anyone with information about this incident to make contact if they haven’t already spoken to police.

“In particular we are looking for anyone who may have seen a blue/grey BMW 323 immediately prior to this incident.”
