Birkenhead man arrested over city centre street attack released on bail
A 38-year-old man from Birkenhead arrested in connection with a city centre assault has been released on bail.
Police had earlier issued a CCTV appeal for information after a man waiting for a taxi outside a nightclub on Victoria Street was beaten unconscious at about 5am on Monday.
The victim remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.
