TRANMERE Rovers are preparing for what boss Micky Mellon believes will be a difficult away game against Dover Athletic this weekend.

Rovers have won three league games out of three since Mellon took the reins earlier this month, while this weekend's opponents have hit a good run of form of late.

On Tuesday Rovers beat North Ferriby United 1-0 at Prenton Park.

Looking ahead to Saturday's game during a press conference this afternoon, Mellon said: "The boys who played on Tuesday have all done recovery work over the last couple of days and we've worked today and we'll get together tomorrow and have that long trip to Dover where we'll be involved in another tough game of football."

Assessing Saturday's opponents he continued: "Dover are a very capable side, we know the threats that they possess so it should make for another tough game but one that we're very much looking forward to."

Forward James Norwood picked up a red card during Tuesday's game against and is on a three-match suspension.

Striker Connor Jennings is recovering from a knee injury and there is also doubt over the fitness of captain Steven Jennings.

Mellon added this afternoon: "Steven Jennings has not trained today so we'll see how he is tomorrow. 24 hours is a long time so we'll see how he is feeling.

"If he's not available then we'll go again without the captain but that shouldn't be a problem."
