THE first round of the Premier Division Cup resulted in Wallasey Oval edging out Grange Hearts in a seven-goal thriller as they won 4-3 thanks to a Tom Ward double and strikes from Matty Hughes and Andy Beaver.

The replies came from Mike White, Andy Noonan and Steve Ronald.

Goals from Josh Gray, Gino King and Paul Casey saw Woodchurch United beat FC Victoria 3-0.

Saddle Inn rode to their first win of the campaign when edging out Matrix 4-3 with goal from Mike McNamara (2), Ian Duckworth and an own-goal.

There were plenty of goals in the Division Two Cup first round as Poulton Vics ousted St Andrews United 6-0 due to a Lee Davey hat- trick, a brace from Sean Wright and a Dane Murray strike.

Division Two league games saw Pilot Boat on the crest of a wave when easing home 6-0 against Stanley's Cask as Tom Farrington, Ricci O'Brien (2), Dan Murphy (2) and Craig McNamara hit the goals.

Upton Town moved into the top three after beating North Wirral Saints 7-1 thanks to efforts from Joe Pugh (2), Chris Turk, Scott Billington, Alex Pitt, Morgan Woods and Connor Edge. Max Leigh scored for Saints.

Wirral SB FC progressed in the Youth Division Cup when easing home 9-0 versus Park Royal.

Jack McGrotty (2), Callum Darby (2), Lew Hewson, Chris Moore, Bayleigh Sherlock, Connor Walton and Adam Raffle-Watson found the target.

Gabriel Cooper fired a treble and Ben Lennon a single as Eastham Rang- ers Youth ran out 4-0 victors over Wallasey Wanderers.

Manor Youth gained their first points in the Dundee Youth Division when winning 2-1 against Oldershaw Athletic as Connor Lloyd-Jones and Alex Lloyd scored. Jack Beggs scored for Athletic.

In the Grove Youth Division leaders FC Phoenix (Jack Neilson 4) won 4-2 against Irby Youth (Liam Cullen 2) and a goal from Adam Smith earned Higher Beb a 1-0 success over Eastham Rangers Jets.

West K Panthers (Tom Hughes & Ben Austin) drew 2-2 with Heswall Blue and West K Wasps beat Eastham R Colts 5-2.
