Fire crews released the teenager by using pliers and a hammer
Firefighters were called to rescue a 13-year-old boy who had become trapped in a wire tree guard in Birkenhead yesterday evening.
The teen was stuck inside the wire cage that was protecting a sapling on Duke Street.
He was released using pliers and a hammer and was unharmed.
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service received the call at 5pm and were at the scene for around 10 minutes.
