WIRRAL singer Tom Spence is headline act at a fundraising dinner in aid of Pancreatic Cancer UK later this year.

The Charity Gala dinner and Awards night, organised by health and wellbeing network The Green Pages, takes place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Chester on Friday, November 4.

Tom's career highlights included supporting world renowned classical singer Russell Watson.

On the night there will also be live jazz music from singer Becky Lee, Bollywood dancing and a disco.

The night will also include the inaugural Green Networking Awards which will celebrate the success of businesses involved in the health and wellbeing sector.

The gala dinner is being held to support North Wales business woman Ghazala Jabeen with her fundraising campaign for the charity and to raise awareness of pancreatic cancer.

Ghazala's work for the charity began after husband Harold Martin Swindells died from the disease in 2014.

His wish was to help people affected by pancreatic cancer through fundraising and to increase awareness of the disease’s symptoms.

Ghazala has organised several fundraising activities that have to date raised over six thousand pounds towards research into the disease.

Green Pages Director Svitlana Bulava says "We've been involved with supporting Ghazala and Pancreatic Cancer UK for a while and with the Green Pages network celebrating a very successful three years of expansion across Chester, Liverpool and the Wirral, we felt the time was right to organise something on a bigger scale to help her fundraising efforts.

"We're hugely grateful to Tom for donating his time to come along and perform.

"All support for the event is greatly appreciated whether it's coming along on the night or sponsoring the event or one of the awards.

"I must thank the Crowne Plaza Hotel for holding the event and for being one of our sponsors too."
