A NEW night bus will be launching next month, travelling between Liverpool and Chester.

The service will be ran by Stagecoach Merseyside and South Lancashire with the first bus starting on Friday September 9.

It will enable people living on Wirral, Ellesmere Port, and Chester to travel more easily at night.

The night buses will be named the N1, and will follow the same route as the current number one daytime service.

The company will operate its luxurious Stagecoach Gold buses throughout the route which are fitted with audio CCTV.

The price for travelling in the night time will be the same that applies for day time journeys.

Stagecoach dayrider, weekly megarider and Xtra tickets will be available/accepted for night time journeys on the 1 and N1 service. Single and return tickets are also available.

Elisabeth Tasker, managing director of Stagecoach Merseyside and South Lancashire said: “The N1 addresses a key need for people across Merseyside and Cheshire and we’re delighted to be extending our services and providing people with the means to travel about and enjoy themselves on a Friday and Saturday night.

“We’re confident this service will be highly popular and will enable people to get home from work or play comfortably and affordably on our luxury Stagecoach Gold buses.”

The service will run every Friday and Saturday night with the last buses leaving as late as 3.05am.
