WIRRAL Hospice St John's is inviting Globe readers to support its new campaign called Summer Memories by buying a special handmade flower.

Bright yellow wheelbarrows filled with decorative flowers are on display around the hospice gardens throughout August.

The public can buy a flower for a donation of £5 or more per flower.

The flowers can be collected from the hospice between September 5-9, 9am-5pm or posted out for £3.50. To buy a flower, call 0151 343 0778.

A week-long art exhibition opens at the Coach House in Royden Park on Saturday.

Allotment Show

The Teehey Allotments and Gardens Association’s annual show will be held this Saturday.

Taking place at Bebington High Sports College, it runs from 2pm to 4.30pm. Admission is 50p for adults, accompanied children free.

Summer open day

Wirral charity Horse Sense is holding a summer open day this Saturday from 1pm to 4pm at Lodge Farm in Neston Road, Thornton Hough.

Attractions include pony rides and a performance from an equine display team. There will also be a face painter, BBQ, a dunk tank and various other activities.

Admission is £2 for adults, under 12s get in free.

Fun in the Park

There’s a family fun day at Dawstone Park in Heswall on August 27, from 1pm to 4.30pm.

Among the activities will be pony rides, a novelty dog show, bouncy castle, Megaslides, tombola and more.
