WIRRAL will once again appear on our TV screens as the latest episode of The Dog Rescuers airs tonight.

Hosted by Alan Davies, the series so far has followed RSPCA inspectors rescuing animals from unimaginable conditions.

It has featured inspirational rehabilitations and heart-warming rehomings.

Tonight’s episode sees Wirral’s RSPCA inspector Anthony Joynes visiting a property in Birkenhead where he discovers seven severely underweight American bulldog puppies.

The puppies appear to be struggling to get enough nutrition from their exhausted mum.

Anthony take the young pups into the care of the RSPCA, where they soon transform into bundles of fun.

It is yet another example of the great work and dedication carried out by the animal charity.

Also featured in the episode is the search for four dogs, two of which have been allegedly beaten by their owner.

Rescue dog Stella makes an appearance, she is famous for becoming the first Staffordshire Bull Terrier to be taken on as a Police Sniffer Dog. Viewers will see Stella and her handler Pc Claire Todd attending an assessment centre where they will need to track down real guns, drugs, and cash.

Dog Rescuers airs every Tuesday on Channel 5 at 8pm.
