A WIRRAL charity has donated more than £2,000 to five other local organisations.

The Wirral Care Foundation has donated their community fund to charities to help support local causes.

The Wirral Care Foundation is a charity set up by the owners of local care company, Home Instead Senior Care.

This year the foundation shared a £2500 community fund to benefit local initiatives.

Manager of the Wirral Care Foundation, Cheryl Brown said: “We are delighted to be able to share our community fund with such fantastic charities.

“Each group helps the local area in a different way and we are so proud to support them.”

After receiving more than 20 applications, the successful groups were chosen; Neston Angels, All About Women, Operation Christmas Child, Carers Soup & Support and Clifford Grange Craft-A-Noon Club.

Their aim was to select charities and community groups which create a positive impact on the community, whilst providing long term benefits for the people of Wirral.

The project culminated in an awards ceremony celebrating each charity and their achievements.

The groups were presented with certificates from the owners of Home Instead, Catharine and Mike Chalton.

They said: “Home Instead Senior Care plays an important role in the local community, supporting older people to live at home for as long as possible and creating the Wirral Care Foundation was a vision we have held for some years.

“The awards ceremony was a great evening, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves.”
