POLICE have launched an investigation after the body of a 43-year-old man was found in a car park in Birkenhead.
Emergency services were called to Oxton Road at 1.35am this morning after a member of the public found the body of a man.
A police spokesman said: "The death is being treated as unexplained and a post mortem will be carried out to establish the cause of death.
"The man's next of kin have been informed.
"A scene has been preserved and crime scene investigators have also examined the scene."
Detectives are appealing for anyone who has any information about this incident to get in contact.
The area has a number of businesses in, including a casino and officers believe that there would have been people in the area, even at this early hour.
