A CANNABIS farm with more than 200 plants was discovered at a property in Bromborough today.
Officers from Merseyside police acted on information from the local community and issued a warrant at the address on Magazine Road.
Upon entering the property they discovered the entire upstairs had been converted to grow cannabis plants including timers, lights and a filtered ventilation system.
A 33 year-old male has been arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis and was being questioned by detectives today.
Sergeant Mark Smith said: "This house was situated in a nice residential area but clearly stood out from the surrounding houses.
“The bedrooms windows were never open, despite the current hot weather, curtains were permanently closed and there was an unkempt look to the outside of the house.
“This kind of information from the public is vital to continue to target drugs in the area."
Signs that there may be a cannabis farm in your neighbourhood include:
• Strange smells and sounds
• Frequent and varied visitors to a property, often at unusual times
• Gardening equipment being taken into a property, such as plant pots, fertiliser, fans and industrial lighting
• Windows are sealed and covered or the curtains are permanently closed
• Heat from an adjoining property
• Birds gathering on a roof in cold weather
• Individually these activities may seem commonplace, however, together may indicate something more sinister
