VETERAN Wirral magician Bob Romanoff will attempt to amaze and astound visitors to the Walled Garden in Wallasey's Central Park this afternoon.

The 75-year-old entertainer who has been in the business for more than 30 years and is an accomplished singer, promises traditional magic and has a collection of more than 100 tricks.

He told the Globe: "I have performed at venues all over the world and on cruise ships and have really enjoyed my work.

"But I don't class it as a job; it's a hobby that I really enjoy.

"I love seeing the look on people's faces as they try to work out how the trick is done."

Wirral Globe:

Bob practices the act with assistant Kieran Evans-Jones, nine, from Wallasey

At one time, he used to put on the face paint and colourful clothes to play Bobo The Clown.

Looking back on his career, Bob continued: "I was a regular performer at the now long gone Albion Hotel in New Brighton, also used to do a lot of ‘Big-Top’ circus magic.

"My particular forte is the major illusion. I have 100 illusions in my repertoire but can, if required, design and build a completely new effect suitable to the occasion."

Bob’s Sunday magic show in the Walled Garden starts at 2pm.
