A FIRE broke out at a Birkenhead property following a lightning strike this afternoon.
Two fire engines attended the scene on Larch Road in Tranmere at around 2pm.
Firefighters ventilated the property and investigated the cause, which appeared to be a lightning strike.
They were called to the property and found the fire, which occurred in the first-floor bedroom, to be out on arrival.
All occupants were out of the house and uninjured.
The bedroom and contents were partially damaged by heat, smoke and fire.
Three further first-floor rooms were damaged by smoke.
Fire crews remained at the scene for around 40 minutes.
