THE body of a 44-year-old man has been found in Birkenhead Park.
The body was discovered yesterday morning by a dog walker in a small wooded area of the park shortly after 10am.
Police have described the man as local and say his death is not being treated as suspicious.
A spokesman for Mersey Police said: “Merseyside Police can confirm that a man's body was found in Birkenhead Park on Saturday morning.
“Enquiries made by Wirral CID established that the person who had died was a 44-year-old local man. His next of kin have been informed.
“His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner.”
