A PRENTON nursery has been left delighted after they received a letter and a card from the Queen.

Staff at Daisy and Jake day nursery, received the response from Her Majesty after one of their preschool children sent a drawing to Buckingham Palace.

Three-year-old Evie Keating drew a portrait of the Queen to celebrate her 90th Birthday.

Nursery manager, Ann Proudlove said: “When we sent Evie’s picture off, we never expected to receive a reply.

“When the letter came and we saw the stamp we were delighted, the letter is so personal, we are over the moon.”

Evie spent a lot of time perfecting her piece which included jewels, glitter and even a red sash.

Ann added: “We spent a lot of time teaching the children about posting letters, so Evie was really keen to send her picture off.

“The stamp was a photo of the Queen with her grandchildren, Evie loved looking at it.”

“She was just really excited the Queen enjoyed her picture.”

The nursery held a garden party to honour the Queen’s birthday, including music and games for all those who attend from six month old to those aged four.

Evie wore her union jack dress for the party.
