A MOTORIST has been taken to hospital after her car was flipped on its roof in Moreton.

The incident which took place at the junction of Upton Road and Seaforth Drive at around 7:25am today, saw the woman’s blue Vauxhall corsa crash into a stationary vehicle.

A passer-by stopped to give the woman first aid before an ambulance arrived within minutes.

Nobody was in the stationary vehicle.

Paramedics treated the woman for shock and took her to Arrowe Park hospital as a precaution.

The incident caused heavy conjestion, with reports of traffic being backed up to Hoylake Road.

Police remained at the scene for one hour 30 minutes, directing motorists around the overturned car.

The vehicle has now been removed and the roads surrounding the area are now believed to be clear.
