Three teenagers from Manchester have been arrested overnight in connection with the robbery of a 77-year-old woman who was using a cash machine in Bromborough last week.
The woman was uninjured but left distressed by her ordeal.
Following the incident she managed to make her way inside the bank, where staff raised the alarm.
Two of those held are aged 18 and the third 17, and all are from Levenshulme.
They were stopped in a car by Lancashire police officers and arrested in Blackpool.
They will be transferred to the custody suite in Birkenhead and interviewed about the robbery by detectives from Wirral CID.
