The former Central Hotel in Birkenhead this morning
A fire damaged the ground-floor of the former Central Hotel in Birkenhead last night.
Four appliances from Liverpool, Birkenhead and Wallasey were deployed.
The blaze was confined to the ground-floor of the building. The first and second floors were damaged by smoke.
The alarm was raised at around 9pm and crews left the scene shortly after 11pm.
The hotel, bar and restaurant on Clifton Cresecent has been closed since 2014.
