A teenager is critically ill in hospital after the car he was driving overturned in Heswall.
The 18-year-old was one of three youths taken to hospital following the accident near Telegraph Road at 10.15pm on Tuesday.
The car was found on its roof in a field between Mere Lane and the Cottage Loaf pub.
The badly injured driver was taken to Aintree University Hospital. It is understood his injuries are not life-threatening.
Paramedics treated the two other victims at the scene before taking them to Royal Liverpool Hospital.
The three, all aged around 18, were out of the car when firefighters arrived.
Crews from Heswall and Upton fire stations attended along with the search and rescue team.
A police investigation is underway.
