A WIRRAL MP had a Question Time-style grilling from members of the student council at a school in her constituency.

Woodchurch High School Council invited Wirral West MP Margaret Greenwood MP to the school to answer questions on a range of issues such as Trident, Jeremy Corbyn's leadership, junior doctors and the life of an MP.

Ms Greenwood also spoke to the group about the importance of electoral registration and of how she became an MP.

She said: "It was a huge pleasure to speak to the Council who are a great credit to the school.

"I was very impressed not only by their questions, but also by their knowledge and interest in many issues.

"As a group and as individuals the Council members were clearly well informed and mature representatives of their fellow students."

Following the meeting with the school council Ms Greenwood was taken on a tour of the school by headteacher Rebekah Phillips.

"The school has fantastic facilities and dedicated staff who ensure the best possible education is given to the pupils.

"I would like to thank the School Council and Ms Phillips for their kind invitation."
