THREE people have been arrested after a car was stolen during a burglary in Moreton today.

The owner of a white Ford Kuga called police after had been stolen overnight from an address in Rosslyn Drive.

The vehicle's description was circulated to police patrols in the area and within 15 minutes it had been spotted by an officer in an unmarked car.

The officer kept the stolen Kuga in sight and directed marked traffic cars to the area so that they could stop it.

When the driver saw marked police cars behind him he abandoned the car in Digg Lane and tried to run away.

However the 17-year-old was caught nearby and arrested on suspicion of burglary.

Further enquiries led officers to a house in Tern Way where two other people aged 17 and 18 were also arrested on suspicion of burglary.

All three are in police custody where they will be questioned by detectives from Wirral CID.
