There have been some great stage entrances in recent years at the Empire such as Henry "The Fonz" Winkler and Pamela 'Baywatch' Anderson.

Hollywood came to Lime Street. Now I take my hat off to the Hoff -David Hasselhoff.

The famous Baywatch creator and Knight Rider. He arrived on a mobile DJ mixing desk.

The Hoff is the undoubted star of this jukebox musical written and directed by master showman Jon Conway in a fast paced 130 minute production that oozes fun from the warm up man standing in front of a bank of screens which are used to maximum effect throughout.

We see a group of Club 18-30 holidaymakers heading out to Ibiza.

One of the girls is Penny (Stephanie Webber) who is seeming out her dad Ross .... after a three year absence played with effortless style by an impeccably dressed Hoff.

He runs the Club Nirvana and aided by a Spanish barman ( Tam Ryan) who provides a lot of visual comedy.

Penny meanwhile strikes up a relationship with a tour guide and wannabee DJ Rick courtesy of likeable lad Shane Richie junior.

There is plenty of boo and hiss panto styled material from evil drug dealer Ebenezer (Barry Bloxham).

Along the way we have hits from the 80s and 90s including Relight My Fire and the Hoff singing the Barry Manilow classic Even Now as well as the Bryan Adams hit Everything I Do.

The cast look as though they are enjoying every single song , dance and joke.

The on stage band are first class. There is a great Baywatch scene and a sketch where Ross takes an ecstasy tablet in error providing a surreal trip sequence.

At the fab finale The Hoff sang the title track and said : "Liverpool you are awesome.,"

The audience agreed with this charismatic star and made him feel at home.

A happy show with an anti drug message ,too.

Well done to the Hoff Master.
